KHAR, Sep 26: Political Agent Bajaur Abdul Jabar Shah has said that forestry plays a vital role in the economy of the region and added that the administration is taking keen interest in the development of forest in the agency.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of monsoon tree plantation campaign here the other day. Tribal elders, social workers and officials of the administration and forest department were present at the ceremony.

The political agent said that forestry was one of the major sources of income for tribesmen because majority of people in the region had no other job. —Correspondent
