QUETTA, Sept 24: Out of 125 children who went missing during the current year 103 have returned home voluntarily, 12 have been handed over to their families by the police and 10 are still missing, officials said.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, DIG investigation Hamid Shakeel and DIG operations Wazir Khan Nasar said police had been striving to improve the security situation in the city.

They said that under the prevailing circumstances the performance of the police was ‘good’, adding that hundreds of police personnel had died to protect the lives of citizens.

The officers said that an operation had been carried out against anti-social elements, adding that dozens of illegal vehicles were impounded during a recent campaign launched on the orders of the Supreme Court.
