50 arrested

Some 50 protesters were arrested by police during violent clashes on Friday. A senior police official said the Qilla Gujjar Singh, Civil Lines and Racecourse police arrested them when they attacked the US Consulate and Governor’s House. Among them mostly were workers of religious parties. He said more than a dozen policemen sustained injuries after the unruly mob pelted them with stones. He said no case was lodged in connection with the violent protests till late night on Friday.
