SUKKUR, Sept 14: Five men were killed when armed men of the Sawand and Sabzoi communities clashed with each other over a piece of land in the Maloo Sawand village in katcha area of Kandhkot late on Friday evening.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Fatah Sabzoi, Mohammad Azeem Sabzoi, Mohammad Salah Sawand, Rano Sawand and Dost Mohammad Sawand, according to sources in the area.

The two communities have been at war over the 22-acre piece of land since four and a half years and the dispute has so far claimed 67 lives on both sides. Police had not reached the area and removed the bodies till the filing of this report.

Fear gripped the area after the clash and armed men of both sides have taken up position against each other in trenches.
