MULTAN, Aug 7: “Our education system needs improvement. Technological and industrial trends should be made part of the education system,” says Ahmed Masood, who topped in the matriculation examination across Punjab.
In an interview on Monday, Ahmed said he wanted to become a doctor.
Ahmed topped all eight boards of Punjab by securing 1024 out of the total 1050 marks as a candidate from the Multan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
“I was stunned to hear the news of my position, as I never thought of such an achievement,” says Ahmed.
He said the Punjab government should extend the laptop scheme to schools to encourage students.
Ahmed, whose twin sister Fatima obtained 959 marks in the same exam, said special classes from 6pm to 9pm at the school helped him a lot achieve this position.
Ahmed’s father Khalid Masood, who is an income tax lawyer by profession, said his son always stood first in his class.
Ahmed says he is fond of book reading, cricket and badminton. “A man is known by the company he keeps and the books he reads,” he adds. — APP
