LAHORE, July 8: The Pakistan Council of Science and Industrial Research (PCSIR) following the experience of previous year has again prepared a low cost anti-dengue syrup to cope with the rising threat of the virus.

Talking to APP here on Sunday, DG PCSIR Dr Shahzad Alam said following directions of the high-ups of Ministry of Science and Technology, the council started work to prepare anti-dengue syrup and successfully prepared a cheapest one from papaya and pomegran ate costing Rs80 per bottle.

The syrup could be used thrice a day after mixing clean drinking water, he said. Responding to a question, he said it would be easily available at PCSIR’s Industrial Liaison Office (ILO) on no-profit-no-loss basis.

To another question about its commercialisation, the DG hinted at some financial constraints in this regard. --APP
