Mother Earth

The environment of Earth is really deteriorating and we are not doing much for it. A letter from Mother Earth by Mohammad Niaz was touching and really made me wonder how cruel we, humans, have become! We use all the resources of our Earth and in return we give nothing! I am ashamed of myself!

However, to lessen the burden of guilt, I took my pocket money and went to the nursery near my house and bought a handful of seedlings of different trees that I could afford, and then I planted them near my house. Now, every morning, I water the plants and feel so happy. It is my request to the readers to plant at least one tree, and participate in making Earth a better place to live.

Showcase

This is with reference to the fortnightly column Showcase by Aamir Raz Soomro. I really like reading this column as the news are really great and we get knowledge of various happenings around the world. However, there are not much pictures in the section; therefore, in my opinion there should be more pictures in it.

Learning to be popular and proper

I totally agree with Gulrukh Tausif in her article Learning to be popular and proper (YW, May 19, 2012). Money or status cannot make you popular but your good behaviour will affect how people connect to you.

We should also not feel too proud of our achievements by being snobbish as it can ruin our image and could also hurt others. In fact, we should always try to help others whenever possible as it will win their hearts.

My dreams for my country

This is regarding the article My dreams for my country by Muqadas Zehra (YW, May 19, 2012). I appreciate the writer’s concern about our country. It is obvious that the prosperity of a country or a nation depends upon its youth and, of course, the quality of education they possess.

Education is the key to empowerment of a country in all fields. I think every citizen in the country is responsible for contributing towards the prosperity of the country by first gaining education and then spreading it.

The ideal magazine

Young World has always provided kids with entertainment, amusement and information. The stories and columns are full of knowledge and attract hundreds of children of different age groups to read it every Saturday.

This magazine has played an effective role in advising, counselling and suggesting how to live a simple yet unique life. Also, it has given them the opportunity to plan their summer vacation in many great ways. Indeed, YW is my favourite and ideal magazine.

II

I am addicted to Young World. I have been reading this incredible magazine since I was five, and in comparison to several other kids’ magazines, YW is the best.

I would like to say that the YW team is doing a wonderful job and it would be awesome if there would be an increase in the number of pages.
