LAHORE, June 3: An alleged robber was killed and a citizen injured in a street robbery in the Kareem Park locality of Shafeeqabad on Sunday, police said. Three gunmen held Muhammad Rashid and attempted to snatch his new motorcycle.

They shot at and injured him when 25-year-old Rashid offered resistance. One of the suspects was also injured in the friendly fire. The two suspects fled the scene. The injured were shifted to Mayo Hospital where the unidentified robber succumbed to his wounds.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.

Four robbers barged into the house of Ahmad Saleem in Mughalpura police remit and took away cash and valuables Rs1.4 million.

Three robbers stormed into the house of Dubai-returned Nadeem and took away cash and valuables worth Rs1 million.

Robbers also struck houses of Faisal, Javed Ahmad, Akhtar and Khawar in remits of Gulshan Ravi, Sandah, Defence B and Defence A police and took away cash and valuables worth Rs2.4 million.

Two robbers waylaid Hameed and his family in Faisal Town police and looted cash and valuables worth Rs600,000 from them. — Staff Reporter
