ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Wednesday directed that entry in the courtroom would be allowed to those who have been issued passes during Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's appearance before the Supreme Court.
He was talking to mediapersons after chairing a high level meeting held in Islamabad to review law and order situation and security arrangements made for the PM's appearance.
He said, however, advocates along with their clients who have cases on cause list will also be allowed to enter the court.
Chief Commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Inspector General of Police, Islamabad and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) (Security) briefed the minister regarding security arrangements made for the occasion.
Rehman Malik said he has issued directions that security of Supreme Court building and surrounding should be beefed up to avoid any untoward incident.
He said entry in the Red Zone would only be allowed on presentation of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Aerial surveillance will also be carried out through helicopters during the hearing of the case, while the Red Zone will affectively be cordoned off and a alternate traffic plan will be prepared to avoid inconvenience to public. There will also be four helicopters for air surveillance, he added.
