ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain and secretary general of the party Mushahid Hussain Syed on Friday demanded judicial inquiry into Gilgit violence, which killed at least 12 this week.

Speaking to additional secretary general of PML-Q Gilgit-Baltistan Bashir Ahmed Khan, both the leaders expressed sorrow and grief on the sectarian killings in Gilgit and appealed to the people to cooperate with the government for restoring peace in the area.

According to a press release, they said the foreign powers wanted to vitiate the atmosphere of Gilgit and appealed to ulema to play their role in foiling their nefarious designs.
