ISLAMABAD: Afghan President Hamid Karzai stressed equitable and deeper collaboration between Pakistan and Afghanistan to sustain brotherly and close ties.

Karzai in a letter to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, mentioned the Third Afghan-Iran-Pakistan Trilateral Summit in Islamabad that offered yet another opportunity to pursue bilateral dialogue between the two countries.

The president said he has often mentioned both privately and publicly that Afghanistan and Pakistan were twins and it was essential that they sustain a brotherly and equitable collaboration.

Karzai said he had a strong sense of a shared determination to ensure peace, security and prosperity for both the countries, assuming his government's full cooperation in realising the mutual commitments made in Islamabad.
