KARACHI: The Haqqani network, one of the toughest militant groups battling the Nato forces in Afghanistan, has issued guidelines to its militants in a newly published book, a BBCUrdu report said.

The report said that the BBC had received a copy of the "Nizami Darsona", comprising more than 160 pages and written by unknown Abu Umar Asaltfi in Pushto language.

The book says that it was published using financial aid by the group's leader Sirajuddin Haqqani. It moreover says that the sale of the book is prohibited and so is the sharing of its content with ordinary people.

“Nizami Darsona” says that it aims at helping active members of the Taliban in organising themselves so that they may effectively increase their activities against foreign forces active in war-torn Afghanistan.

The book, in its initial chapters, expands on the need of a holy war and its types through Quranic verses and through Prophet Mohammad’s sayings.

It also lays down rules regarding recruiting new members in militant groups.

The book also urges new recruits to prefer Shaikh Osama, Mullah Mohammad Omar and Hikmatyar groups over other small groups.
