ISLAMABAD: Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt-Gen Shuja Pasha and former ambassador to US Hussain Haqqani on Tuesday submitted their statement on the memogate scandal to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS), DawnNews reported.

While the judicial commission formed by the apex court is probing the issue, the PCNS is also investigating the meogate scandal.

The committee, headed by Senator Raza Rabbani, adjourned the proceedings to January 26.

The PCNS rejected applications regarding PPP leader Raja Riaz’s appearance before committee and induction of Mansoor Ijaz’s name in Exit Control List (ECL).

Speaking to media representatives after the meeting, Rabbani said although Ijaz did not submit written or oral statement to the committee however, Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq has been called to appear before it and brief about security arrangements for the US businessman.

He said that they were not taking notice of ‘outside talks’ and will decide about Ijaz on Jan 26.

Rabbani said that the matter was not discussed with President Asif Ali Zardari and notices were issued to those who were considered important for the probe.
