KARACHI, Jan 12: A former lieutenant commander of Pakistan Navy heading the security department of a private hospital who was shot and injured in the city's Korangi area on Wednesday night died on Thursday.

Police said that Asghar Ali Dogar had come under attack near the Bagar Petrol pump when he was going home in his car from the Chiniot Hospital.

He was taken to the same hospital and later referred to another private hospital.

Korangi SHO Farooq Satti said the retired navy official lived in Karsaz. He hailed from Faisalabad and had two children.

No case was registered till late last night.
