LAHORE, Jan 5: Robbers looted gold ornaments worth more than a million rupees from a jewellery shop in Kot Lakhpat police precincts on Thursday.

Four robbers entered Al Gousia Jewellers, held owner and employees at gunpoint, looted jewellery and fled.

Two robbers stormed Shaukat Khanum Laboratory near Ghazi Road and took away cash in thousands from employees and visitors.

Two robbers robbed Zaman Pervaiz of Rs3,000 and a cell phone in Islampura police precincts.

NH&MP: The National Highways & Motorway Police N-5 Central claim to have arrested 13 people involved in robberies, thefts, carrying illegal weapons and transportation of liquor.

According to a release issued on Thursday, three robbers in a car tried to rob Rs2 million from the cash van of a petrol pump and snatched a motorcycle from Irfan of Sahiwal at gunpoint.

On the arrival of motorway police, the culprits left the car and tried to flee, but one of them identified as Fiaz Rasool was arrested with a pistol and five bullets.

In another incident, patrol officers took Usman, Azam, Sharif and Liaquat into custody after the latter opened fire at the former during checking of a truck. Two pistols, as many magazines and 14 rounds were recovered from them.

Similarly, 450 bottles of liquor were seized from a car and occupants Rafiq and Imran were taken into custody by the police.

Younas of Kasur was arrested for stealing laptop of a passenger.

Haq Nawaz, Afzal, Abdul Hayee, Riaz and Farooq were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and carrying an illegal SMG gun. They were handed over to local police for further action.
