LAHORE: Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director General Zafar Ahmed Qureshi has asked the chief of his agency to ensure the presence of four members of his investigation team in a meeting in the provincial capital on Saturday (today), says a senior FIA official.

Mr Qureshi, who assumed charge of his office on Thursday on the order of the Supreme Court, asked FIA Director General Tahseen Anwar Shah as to why four members of his team -- deputy director Javed Shah, assistant directors Muhammad Ahmed and Khalid Anees and inspector Muhammad Sarwar – had been granted leave, and ‘requested’ him to cancel their leave and ensure their presence in a meeting he was going to chair with regard to the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam on Saturday.

A new controversy seems to be brewing, as Mr Qureshi was earlier suspended a month ago for writing a letter to Mr Shah and demanding that members of his investigation team be posted to their previous positions.  — Staff Reporter
