KARACHI, April 10: A suspected bandit was killed in an encounter with the Rangers in North Nazimabad on Sunday evening, police said. They said that two suspects were looting some people near Ziauddin Hospital in North Nazimabad when two Rangers men patrolling on a motorcycle spotted them.

North Nazimabad SP Chaudhry Asad said that the Rangers men challenged the bandits and following an exchange of fire between them, one of the suspects was wounded while his accomplice managed to escape.

The wounded suspect, identified as 30-year-old Jehangir, was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during treatment.

A .30 bore pistol and three live rounds were recovered from his possession, the police added.—Staff Reporter
