ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday dispelled the impression that his government was under pressure to release the American citizen, Raymond Davis, involved in the killing of three citizens in Lahore.

He was talking to Chief Ministers of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani and Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mian Iftikhar Hussain who met him on sidelines of the Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting at the PM House in Islamabad.

Gilani said that the rule of law is supreme in the country and no one is above the law. The matter is sub judice and we will respect the law of the land, he added.
