50kg opium seized

PESHAWAR, Jan 9: The Nowshera police on Sunday seized huge quantity of opium from a car and arrested two smugglers.

According to police, on a tip-off that a huge quantity of opium would be smuggled from tribal areas to Punjab, Akora Khattak police was put on alert.

The police at a blockade near Akora Khattak on GT Road, signalled a car No-9605 to stop. However, its driver tried to flee, but the police with a little chase apprehended its two inmates, Raees Khan and Khan Afsar, with 50kg opium.—APP
