In order to generate funds, DawnRelief, which supports the flood victims, in collaboration with the Turkish Consul-General (Karachi) Mr Fethi, organised a two-day photography exhibition, 'PhotoEncounter' at the Rag Factory, Whitechapel in London, UK. The exhibition featured more than 80 images by Pakistan's top photographers including Arif Ali, Umair Ghani, Ayesha Vellani, Tapu Javeri, Pervaiz A. Khan, Arif Mahmood and Mahmood Qureshi. All photos were pledged at a donation price of £200.

The photographs reflected an image of the country which the West is unfamiliar with. The images portrayed rural scenes and contemporary urban metropolises while exploring landscapes, cityscapes, faces and animals.

While viewing photos at the exhibition, one felt as if driving through Pakistan with a pit stop in the Thar desert (Sindh) drinking chai with the gypsies, lazing around on the unspoiled beaches and sapphire waters of the Makran Coast (Balochistan) or sifting through the shifting sands of the Cholistan Desert (Punjab). One would also oneself interacting with the Kalaash tribes of Chitral, hiking through the majestic heights of the Himalayan peaks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and visiting various twirling devotees at Sufi shrines.
