It gets more baffling by the day. What on earth are our TV celebs up to? They’re hosting morning shows, cookery shows, even appearing on shows that have political connotations. Everybody knows that comedy is not Sadia Imam’s forte (well, come to think of it, even serious acting is not always up her alley). It’s not at all a pleasant audio-visual sight witnessing Sadia Imam anchor ostensibly a comedy-satire programme on which Mishi Khan and Zeba Shehnaz feature as guests who are either into socio-political stuff or are related to men in politics, etc. The effort is so lame that you’re left thinking: what were they thinking?

While the script is not always meaningless and sometimes has decent punches, it’s the acting of the three women which is so off-puttingly overboard that it just doesn’t work. Pakistani TV actors need to understand that all artistes in the course of their lives reinvent themselves, not re-introduce.
