SWABI, Dec 22: Students of government degree college, Kotha, here on Wednesday blocked the Swabi-Topi road for one hour to protest against the owners of public transport for not picking them from different stops.
They also chanted slogans against the district administration for its failure to ensure that public transport accommodated them in their journey to and from college.
The students gathered at the college and marched to Swabi-Topi road while chanting slogans against transporters and administration.
They blocked the road at Maini bus stop for all kind of traffic. The protest march also led to suspension of academic activities in the college for the whole day.
The students alleged that public transporters refused to pick them from different stops early in the morning and they also faced the same problem on their return from the college.
The students said that earlier both the district administration and transporters had assured them of cooperation, but both had failed to keep the pledge.
However, they ended the protest after an hour on the assurance of administration officials that they would be facilitated by public transport.
