LANDI KOTAL, Dec 19: Security forces on Sunday seized large quantity of arms and ammunition in Bara tehsil. Briefing newsmen at Shakas Fort in Jamrud, Col Sadaat of Mehsud Scouts said they also foiled an attempt to carry out subversive acts in Peshawar and other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by timely seizing the weapons and explosive materials.

He said security forces conducted raids in Akkakhel area of Bara under Col Nasir Ahmad Janjua, Commandant Mehsud Scouts after receiving credible information about the existence of large quantity of arms.

He said along side recovery of 89 Russian-made 6-feet long missiles, 31 rockets, 2 LMGs and thousands of cartridges, four suspect militants were also arrested. He said the seized ammunitions were stocked at a graveyard while the militants made good their escape before the raids were conducted. — Correspondent
