BAHAWALPUR, Oct 20: A man allegedly shot dead his sister on the district court premises on Wednesday in the name of honour.
Parveen, who had been living in Darul Aman for the last few days was on her way to a court to tie a knot with a man of her choice. Near Bakshikhana, her brother Yousaf opened fire on her and she received serious bullet injuries. She succumbed to her injuries on way to Bahawal Victoria Hospital. Passersby overpowered Yousaf and handed him over to the police.
Parveen belonged to Dera Nawab Sahib. She was already married but wanted court marriage with another man, Hashim. After receiving threats from her family, she sought refuge in Darul Aman a few days ago.
According to another report, Yaqoob allegedly shot dead his nephew, Rafique, and his wife, Shazia, in a fit of rage at Chak 49-DB near Yazman, 30 kilometres from Bahawalpur.
According to the police, Yaqoob came to the house late on Tuesday and demanded meal from the family of his nephew Rafique. Both exchanged harsh words. In the early morning, Yaqoob allegedly shot dead Rafique and his wife. Yazman police arrested Yaqoob for murder. CHINKARA HUNTING:
An inquiry into alleged illegal hunting of 40 Chinkara deer in Cholistan by some influential is expected to begin here on Thursday. A few days ago, some poachers had hunted 40 deer in Cholistan.
