KARACHI, Aug 28 Tapal CC sealed their spot in the last-eight stage of the 23rd Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Twenty20 cricket tournament by defeating Hadi Tigers by a comfortable margin of 44 runs at the AKG Ground here on Saturday.
After piling up 184-5, Tapal CC restricted Hadi Tigers to 140-9 to finish with maximum points from three wins in Group 'C'.
Wasim Naeem, the veteran first-class cricketer, played the pivotal innings after Tapal CC won the toss and opted to bat first.
Wasim scored a fine 85 off 66 deliveries with the help of 10 fours and one six.
Tahir Khan, the off-spinning all-rounder, played a good supporting knock. He made 33 off 20 balls with two sixes and two fours while assisting Wasim put on 83 for the fifth wicket.
For Hadi Tigers, Al Naqi (35) and Ijaz Ali Shah (33) were the main scorers as spin trio of Akhtar Kiyani, Kamran Umar and Haris Ayaz claimed two wickets apiece for the winning side.
