SAHIWAL, April 6 Of 600 PTCL broadband DSL users, 250 have been facing a severe internet connectivity problem for the last 48 hours in Sahiwal, Chichawatni, Arifwala and Okara.

Both DSL broadband and line internet users are helpless despite their repeated complaints to PTCL helpline 1218 reserved for internet complaints.

Surfers have been facing connectivity problem worldwide since April 1. Most of the internet service providers (ISPs) had sorted out their problem by April 3 but this was not the case with PTCL internet users.

According to helpline 1218, the problem would be resolved within days. In Sahiwal division, no DSL and line internet connectivity has been functioning properly for the last 48 hours. Farid Town of Sahiwal is the worst hit area where almost 200 DSL connections are lying `dead` till the filing of this report.

Talking to Dawn, Sahiwal region DSL in-charge Mirza Sohail said “The problem exists in a few areas like Sahiwal, Okara, Arifwala and Vehari. We are trying to sort it out.”

Mr Khaleeq, a DSL user from Farid Town, said the PTCL should not charge five-day dues to its broadband internet users.
