MARDAN, Dec 24 NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has called upon political forces to shun their differences and join hands for defending the motherland. “All the political parties have to play their crucial role in curbing terrorism and extremism because it is the matter of our survival,” he said while laying the foundation stone of the Bacha Khan Medical College and launching work on other development projects here on Wednesday.

“If the fire of insurgency is not stopped at this time it could engulf the entire country,” he added.

Besides the medical college, the chief minister also inaugurated work on five other projects, including construction of 29km roads at a cost of Rs330 million. Work on the project would be completed in six months.

The project of the medical college will cost Rs1bn and classes in the college will start in November next year. —Correspondent
