HYDERABAD, Dec 16 Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan chief Dr Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair has condemned the killing of Pir Samiullah and his companions in Swat (NWFP) and said that the killing of Ulema and Mashaikh is the worst form of terrorism.

In a statement faxed to Dawn, Dr Zubair said that the exponents of so-called Islam were trying to create sectarian riots to further their nefarious designs.

He said in some areas of the NWFP, writ of government had disappeared and the government had become helpless before miscreants.

The government should accept its failure and resign, he said.

“Islam is a religion of peace, love and brotherhood,” Dr Zubair said and added that a handful of people were misinterpreting the religion and trying to pit brothers against brothers.
