KARACHI, Oct 6 The Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM) has criticised the Sindh government for regularising the slums inhabited by non-Sindhis.
JSM executive committee which met at Sachal Goth here on Monday discussed the provincial government`s policy of regularising the katchi abadis inhabited by Bengalis, Biharis, Burmese and Afghans, and described it as “detrimental to the interests of the province.”
The meeting noted that as many as 450 non-Sindhis` katchi abadis had been regularised so far.
Presided over by JSM chairman Abdul Khaliq Junejo, the meeting expressed its deep concern over the influx of illegal foreign immigrants, as well as people from other provinces, into Sindh. The meeting termed it a conspiracy.
It also decided to launch a Sindh-wide campaign against the policy. Demonstrations and rallies would be organised in all major cities of the province, it said.
