Late Monday night, crowds, delays and tight security at Benazir Bhutto International Airport prompted a passerby to ask another what might have caused the commotion. "Don't you know Musharraf is coming?" the other asked.

After arriving back in Pakistan on March 24 after four years of self-imposed exile, former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, who took power in October 1999 and ruled the country for eight years, boarded a Rawalpindi-bound flight from Karachi on Monday.

Bad weather forced him to spend a few hours in Lahore, but eventually he landed at Benazir Bhutto airport, from where he planned to travel to his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad.
