LAKKI MARWAT, March 8: The headmasters of government run schools will not perform duty in matriculation examinations commencing from March 13 to protest against appointment of a very small number of head teachers as superintendents of examinations centres by the BISE Bannu.

A decision to this effect was made at a meeting of the all headmasters association here on Friday. President of the association Pir Ghulam chaired the meeting.

Speakers accused the BISE Bannu authorities for ignoring the headmasters of Lakki district in the SSC exams duties. They said headmasters of Lakki were being given step motherly treatment by the board officials.

“The association has decided in principle that no headmaster will perform SSC exams duty nor will relieve teachers of their respective schools for performing duty as invigilators or deputy superintendents in the examinations,” they said.

They threatened to launch a struggle for affiliation of government high and higher secondary schools of the district with BISE D.I. Khan if authorities concerned did not pay heed to their complaints.

SCHOOLS: PPP provincial president MPA Anwar Saifullah Khan said on Friday if voted to power PPP will establish girl’s primary schools at village level besides making functional the schools being used by influential people as their hujras to promote female education.

Speaking at the inaugural function of a female literacy centre set up by National Commission for Human Development at Manjiwala village, Mr Saifullah said though the PPP-led government failed on several fronts like overcoming energy crisis but at the same time it launched Benazir Income support Programme and other such schemes to raise the living standard of women.

NCHD officials, PPP office-bearers and area elders attended the function.

NCHD district general manager Tahir Bashir said 90 such centres had been set up in the district under literacy phase 2013. He said 90 teachers and nine supervisors had been recruited to educate over 2,000 female learners aging 11-45 years.
