KARACHI, Jan 22: The city’s traffic police announced on Tuesday the routes and timings of Eid Miladun Nabi processions to be held on Friday (Jan 25).

According to a notification, three main processions in the city will emerge separately from Kakri Ground and Memon Masjid. Two precessions will emerge from Memon Masjid and will end separately at Arambagh Masjid and Nishtar Park.

The day’s first procession will be organised by Dawat-i-Islami and will emerge at around 10:30am from Kakri Ground. It will end at Memon Masjid, after passing through Nawab Mohabbat Khanji Road, Jamaat Khana, G. Allana Road and Tower areas.

The second procession, led by Maulana Asghar Dars and Akbar Dars, will emerge at 2.30pm from Memon Masjid and will pass through M.A. Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Regal Chowk, Sharea Liaquat before ending at Arambagh Masjid.

The third procession, organised by Jamaat Ahle Sunnat, will also emerge from Memon Masjid at 3pm and will end at Nishtar Park after passing through M.A. Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre and Numaish.

The notification advised procession workers to submit application forms (with attested photocopies of vehicle’s registration book, national identity card of the vehicle owner, driving licence, two passport-sized photographs of the driver and an application by the organiser of the procession) on the organisation’s letterhead from Jan 22 to Jan 23 and obtain receipts for vehicle stickers. The stickers can be collected from traffic police headquarters after submitting the receipts.

Stickers for government vehicles, ambulances and media vehicles will be issued from Jan 22 to Jan 24, said the notification, adding that no sticker would be issued on the 12th Rabiul Awwal.—PPI
