LAHORE, Jan 13: Results of the Lahore Bar Association (LBA) were officially announced here on Sunday.

According to the final results, Friends Group’s presidential candidate Nauman Qureshi bagged 2,468 votes to defeat Professional Group’s Chaudhry Ishtiaq, who could muster the support of 2,138 voters.

Shehzad Hasan and Tauqeer Sadiq returned as vice-president of the bar by securing 2,144 and 1,920 votes respectively.

The slot of vice-president (Model Town) went to Irfan Basra as he grabbed 1,611 ballots.

To occupy two seats of secretaries, Kamran Bashir and Nadeem Chaudhry polled 1,900 and 1,742 votes, respectively.

Sheikh Kashif was elected joint secretary as he bagged 2,449, while Fazila Ferheen got the maximum votes of 2,902 by any individual in the election to become finance secretary of the Lahore Bar.

At least 4,611 of the 12,191 eligible voters cast votes in the polling held on Saturday.
