TAXILA, Jan 3: Tension gripped the city after a religious gathering (majlis) held in connection with the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain came under attack here on Thursday.

One person was injured when two motorcyclists opened fire at the majlis held in a house at Wahdat Colony, a few metres from the local police station, and fled away. The injured was identified as Aslam Zia.

He was taken to the THQ hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.

On the other hand, the suspension of cellular phone service created problems for the people. Those whose relatives were in hospitals or coming from different parts of the country through air, trains or in buses faced difficulties in remaining in touch with them.
