KOLKATA, Jan 3: A sparkling century by Nasir Jamshed inspired Pakistan to trounce India by 85 runs in the second one-day international at the Eden Gardens and take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Thursday.

Mohammad Hafeez was the other contributor with a rollicking 76 off 74 balls studded with 10 boundaries.

With this victory Pakistan maintained their unbeaten record against India at Kolkata.

The tourists’ total of 250 turned out to be big enough in the end as they shot out the Indians with the pace of Junaid Khan and the wile of spinner Saeed Ajmal for a paltry 165 to record a convincing victory with two overs to spare.

Scores: Pakistan 250 all out (48.3 overs) India 165 all out (48 overs).

Pakistan took the momentum of a comprehensive six-wicket victory in the first ODI in Chennai to Kolkata, outplaying the hosts in all departments of the game.

At one stage the tourists had their sights on a 300-plus total, but the middle order failed to capitalise on the flying start given by openers Jamshed and Hafeez. However, Pakistani bowlers had their tails up, decimating the vaunted Indian batting line-up with a deadly mix of pace and spin.
