LAHORE: Supreme Court Bar Association's former president, Asma Jahangir, while talking to media persons on Monday said that lawyers were in favor of speedy delivery of justice but they would not allow the dismissal of cases on the pretext of the recently approved National Judicial Policy (NJP), DawnNews reported.

Jahangir added that judges should use the contempt of court law judiciously and that remarks should not be made which caused turmoil in the country.

While responding to a query regarding Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, she said that the respecting the court was compulsory and that instead of protesting Altaf Hussain should appear in court.
