ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided on Wednesday that candidates who would violate the election rules and regulations will be disqualified, DawnNews reported.

The commission also decided to double the remuneration of the polling staff.

An important meeting, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim, was held in election commission’s office in Islamabad.

The meeting was attended by the four provincial election commissioners and other officials of the EC.

The meeting also discussed the petition filed by Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan pertaining to the election in South Waziristan.
