LAHORE, Oct 30: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to accelerate MBS Project work pace, saying completion of the development work in accordance with the timeline must be ensured.

“All the departments concerned should evolve a coordinated strategy in this regard. And I will not tolerate any sort of delay in the execution of the project,” the CM warned the officials in a meeting, expressing his annoyance over slow pace of work by some of the departments concerned.

He said though city traffic police had made good arrangements on the project routes, some alternatives should be made available at the places where the people were facing problems.

He ordered initiation of a public awareness campaign regarding MBS use in advance so that the people could be saved from any inconvenience when it became operational.

The CM directed the officials concerned to develop parking areas near the MBS route. He also sought installation of escalators at the station with immediate effect, along with completion of remaining development work expeditiously. He ordered foolproof security arrangements along the entire MBS route. He directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority director general to undertake landscaping work along the MBS route. — Staff Reporter
