PESHAWAR, Oct 26: Acting central secretary general of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, women’s wing and MPA Shazia Aurangzeb on Friday criticised Begum Tahira Bukhari and Begum Shaheen Habibullah for posing themselves as the provincial president and general secretary of the said wing.

“There is no women’s wing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The two women are part of a settlement brokered by our leader Nawaz Sharif between Pir Sabir Shah and Ameer Muqam groups,” she told a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club.

The PML-N women wing leader said there were differences between Pir Sabir Shah and Ameer Muqam groups, which were settled by Mr Sharif by adjusting members of both sides in the party. She added that the two women belonging to Ameer Muqam group were part of the adjustment.

She said both the women called themselves to be provincial president and general secretary respectively but they in fact had no office of the women’s wing.

Ms Aurangzeb said the PML-N women’s wing had yet to be established at grassroots level. She said formation of units on union council level was her priority.

“200 women will work for the party under supervision of five women organisers, while a woman coordinator will lead the unit,” she said. — Bureau Report
