LONDON: England’s Matt Prior believes beating an India side with home advantage will be bigger than winning the Ashes in Australia.

"Absolutely, may be even bigger," Prior said when asked about how beating India compares to the Ashes and if it is as big.

"The records are there, we hadn’t beaten Australia in Australia for 24 years, the last time we did it. We haven’t beaten India for 27 years, it is going to be a monumental effort," Prior said in an interview.

England won the 2010-2011 Ashes in Australia.

Prior added that winning in India will be another distinction for the current England side.

"But the thing I love about this team is that whenever there have been targets and records to be broken, we have usually stood up to the task and broken those records. Winning in the sub-continent for this team is almost the final frontier. It's something we haven't done and we want to do," he said.

England’s series which includes four Tests, two Twenty20s and five one-day internationals begins later this month.
