Six people, including a journalist and four PPP workers, were killed and 19 others wounded in the attack on participants in the rally where Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s daughter, MNA Nafisa Shah, was also to speak.

The suspect, Azizullah Janwari aka Kaffan, was arrested in a raid on a house in Mailaiwali Gali, Tibba Badar Shah, Bahawalpur.

A resident of Sadoro Janwari, the suspect had recently moved to Bahawalpur with his family, he added. The suspect had shaved off his face to conceal his identity, the SSP said, adding that he was wanted in several criminal cases.
