ISLAMABAD: A sum of Rs 26.898 billion has been recovered by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during the last four years, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Farooq H Naek told Senate on Friday.
In a written reply to the question of Ms Kalsoom Parveen, he said a sum of Rs 3.638 billion had been recovered in the year 2008-9, Rs 8.857 billion in 2009-10, Rs 1.509 billion in 2010-11 and Rs 12.894 billion was recovered in 2011-12.
Giving further breakup, he said Rs 11.403 billion has been recovered by NAB during the last four years on account of corruption and corrupt practices, Rs 1.813 billion was received on account of bank default, Rs 1.209 billion has been recovered in case of Punjab Cooperative Board for Liquidation (PCBL) and Rs 12.473 billion were recovered by NAB on account of court fines imposed on various parties. He said no amount has been paid to the informers from 2008-9 to 2011-12.
