DACCA: Students of the Dacca University and Dacca Medical College today abstained from their classes in protest against yesterday’s incidents in Karachi.

The students earlier met at the University Campus and by a voice resolution decided to re-start their “movement” in Dacca, if the demands of the Karachi students were not accepted soon. They also demanded compensation for those students who had suffered in yesterday’s incidents.

Earlier, the students of the Dacca Medical College and Dacca University held separate meetings in their respective premises. The medical students then took out a procession and gathered at the University Campus, where student leaders in their speeches criticised the Government “over yesterday’s Karachi incidents.”

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad students at a meeting held here today demanded an immediate inquiry into the “teargassing and lathicharge” on students in Karachi yesterday.

The students adopted a resolution expressing their full support to the students of Dacca and Karachi. The resolution also urged the Government to take steps to mitigate the genuine grievances of the students before the situation further worsened.
