ISLAMABAD, Sept 24: Islamabad Police have tightened the security in the capital and extra deployment of police personnel has been ordered around places of worship and important buildings, an official source said here Monday.

The source said that Inspector General of Islamabad police, Bani Amin has directed to beef up security in the federal capital and strict security measures have been directed at places of worship and other important locations as well as public places.

Police presence has been enhanced at markets and extra contingents of police have also been deployed there. Furthermore, parking of vehicles close to worship places would be banned during prayers.

Police personnel in plain clothes are assigned the task to keep vigil on suspicious elements. Police Commandoes deputed outside sensitive locations have been alerted and special police teams have been constituted by each police station for effective patrolling in its respective jurisdiction.

Area (beat) offices are also directed to remain alert while Falcon and Eagle Squads are also assigned the task for effective policing and patrolling in the city.

Complete coordination among all wings of Islamabad police including traffic police, Special Branch, City Police, Security Police, CID and Headquarters Police has been also ordered.

The police will also start checking hotels and guest houses in the Federal Capital in order to ensure protection to lives and property of citizens.

Checking at exit and entry points of the city has been further strengthened and police patrolling has been enhanced in order to avert any untoward situation, the sources maintained. — APP
