KARACHI: Pakistan lost to Bangladesh by five wickets to finish eighth in the ICC Under 19 World Cup on Friday.

Pakistan batted first and made 235 runs for the loss of eight wickets with Mohammad Nawaz (82), Shahid Ilyas (44) and Faraz Ali (43) starring with the bat while for Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 3-80, Al-Amin took 2-28 and Dewan Sabbir 2-38.

Captain Amanul Haque scored 128 runs to help Bangladesh reach the target successfully in the 46th over with five wickets to spare. Bangladesh recorded their second best finish with the win while this was Pakistan's worst ever finish.

In the other matches, Sri Lanka beat Afghanistan by seven wickets to win the Plate Championship while England finished fifth after beating West Indies by 13 runs and Scotland beat Ireland by five wickets to finish 11th.
