PESHAWAR, Aug 17: To express solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians, the activists of Imamia Students Organisation (ISO), district Peshawar, and Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen on Friday took out protest processions and held rallies against the Israeli atrocities.

Holding banners and placards, the people came to Sher Shah Suri Road in processions from different areas soon after the last Friday of Ramzan, and blocked the road near the press club by burning tyres. They also shouted anti-Israel and anti-American slogans and expressed full support to Palestinians. They also set on fire flags of US and Israel.

Ali Abbas Naqvi, Peshawar region nazim of ISO, Allama Hassan Naqvi Azhar Bangash and Hussain Bangash, who were leading the demonstrators, said Bait-ul-Muqaddas was a religious issue of all the Muslims and ejecting Israel from the holy places was ‘our aim and destination’.

They added that the expulsion of Israel would only be possible when all the Muslims forged unity.

They said US wanted to rule on the entire globe and its agenda was very clear throughout the world, adding unfortunately Muslims were least bothered to come closer in this regard and had become silent spectators.

They maintained that the Muslim rulers were also not interested in the solution of Syria issue while interference of Israel and US in that country continued. They said Muslims were being killed brutally in Burma allegedly under the supervision of world powers.

The Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC), other Muslim organisations and human rights associations all were silent in this regard, they lamented. The protesters asked the Muslims to join hands to recover all the occupied places, including the Bait-ul-Muqaddas.

They also condemned killing of people while on way to Gilgit-Baltistan from Islamabad.

Our correspondent from Hangu said that processions were also taken out in the district against the Israeli occupation of Bait-ul-Muqaddas and the participants shouted anti-US and anti-Israeli slogans.
