QUETTA: Shut down in light of the deteriorating security situation and threat of a terrorist attack on independence day, cellular services in Balochistan have been restored after almost 24 hours.

As regular practice over the past few years, the government had shut down cellular services in Quetta and adjoining regions on independence day.

Security officials said that the reason for shutting down cellular services was to disrupt any communication between terrorists.

Security officials said that the overall security situation had improved due to this practice.
