RAWALPINDI, Aug 10: A week-long photo exhibition titled Roshni Ka Safar highlighting the Pakistan movement kicked off on Friday at Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC).

More than 170 rare pictures of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Maulana Muhammad Ali Johar and other Muslim leaders of the Subcontinent attracted a large crowd of youngsters.

The pictures depicted the statesmanship of founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. It threw the light on the struggle of the Quaid to provide a homeland to the Muslims of the Subcontinent.

The RAC and Punjab Arts Council collected the rare pictures from different sources to educate the young generation about the Pakistan Movement.

These pictures provided a bright picture of Mr Jinnah and other leaders’ struggle to get the country free from clutches of British.

The scenes turned out to be a successful attempt on the part of lens men to educate watchers about the different modes and styles of the great leader while advocating Pakistan case in front of British authorities.

PML MNA Hanif Abbasi was the chief guest in official function of the art council. MPA Raja Hanif Advocate was also accompanied him.

Hanif Abbasi said that people’s sacrifices for Pakistan would not be worn out at any cost because it was achieved after a long and arduous struggle.

He said that the country was facing problems due to wrong policies of the rulers in spite of the fact that we need not to disappoint at any stage.

He said that keeping in mind the Quid sincere and great efforts for achievement of Pakistan; we must promise on Independence Day that we will not keep away from any sacrifice for Pakistan.

MPA Raja Hanif Advocate said that Pakistan can stand in the line of developed countries if we unite to solve the problems faced by Pakistan.

He said God has bestowed Pakistan with unlimited resources; it is need of the time to utilise them properly. He also advised the people to visit the exhibition to learn a lesson from the history.

The exhibition will continue till August 18, 2012.
