ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced on Tuesday that he would take Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khwaja Asif to the courts for his false accusations for the defamation of noble ‘Shaukat Khanum’ project, DawnNews reported.
Addressing a press conference at central secretariat in Islamabad, Khan appealed to the Chief Justice to hear his case as soon as possible.
“I request Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take up this case immediately as the PML-N wants to launch a campaign against Shaukat Khanum Hospital,” he said.
Khan lashed out at Asif for hurling allegations against the charity organization.
He said that the allegations were leveled in Ramzan as the PML-N knew that the Shaukhat Khanum Trust collects the majority of its donations during this month.
By hurling the allegations the lives of patients have been put in jeopardy, Khan said.
He said that if the people stopped giving Zakat and money to the hospital it would be very difficult for it to treat the poor people.
He said that the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital was spending Rs two billion on providing treatment to the poor and the deserving people.
Imran Khan said two other cancer hospitals would also be constructed in Peshawar and Karachi.
The PTI Chairman said that he had challenged Nawaz Sharif with eleven questions on Friday but he has not responded to any one of it as yet.
He said that unlike Sharif he has not made factories for his own benefit but created institutions like Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre and Namal college.
He said that he has responded to the allegations of Chaudhry Nisar by showing record of his tax returns of the last 30 years but Nawaz Sharif has not responded to any of his allegation.

The leaders of pml n are not only incompitent and corrupt but myopic and intellectually challenged as well. If they had bothered to have a peak at the donation page of SKMT they would have known how donars differentiate between zakat and donation. I hope this spells disaster for their failed attempt to malign SKMT which is a source of pride for Pakistanis around the world. I hope this answers one of the questions raised by the uncivilized pml n leaders (mashaidullah khan in particular). Silence is a crime when it comes to injustice.
BTW I donated $25 today which is minimal but that is what I could contribute in the capcity of an international student whose financial standing is not sound. I know our religion tells us to be discreet when it comes to charity but with this thread I want to register my protest and encourage / inspire others to do the same.
May Allah protect our beautiful homeland from the wrath of these munafiq looters.

@ Shaikh Mohommad: The charged levelled were of defamatory nature. Hence the reply of IK has also got to be heard by the nation through a press conference. If IK does not respond infront of cameras, his dignified silence will be taken as admission of guilt. Unfortunately in a country like ours, there is no such thing as dignified silence.

If Imran Khan is sincere, why does he not have a website with details of tax returns, and amount raised for Shaukat Khanum hospital and amount spent (independently audited), disposal proceeds of London flat, properties purchased in Pakistan and elsewhere, plus a forum for people to ask questions?
This would demonstrate his sincerety, his purpose in life, and force other politicians to follow suit.

Dear Imran, PML-N is trying to bog you down in the dirty political game of accusation and counter accusations. This is to take your focus away from main issues. PML-N know it well that while you are vigorously trying to defend yourself; some brainless stuff bound to come out of your mouth; thus allowing these tested politicians to capitalize on it. They are happy that you could only come up with 11 questions; even I am who is not running for anything except for food in the refrigerator; can come with 111 wrongdoings of these Sharifs' brothers.
Stay focused, have SKHs' external auditors make all financial reports available to public. Even there were some judgmental errors made, reveal them. Considering the economies of the last decade, almost all Non-for-Profit organizations have lost some equity and it should not be attributed to you. Although, you are heart, soul and the brain behind SKH, however, you are not day to day management; people will understand.

I wish Imran Khan would stop being irked at baseless allegations and instead focus on forming a solid and practical plan to improve the situation of Pakistan. So far, Nawaz Shari, though tainted with corruption, still seems to have a lot better plan than he does. If Imran Khan approaches the elections in this state, I would have to vote for PML(N) with a very heavy heart.

Please understand the basic difference between endowment fund and zakat/charity fund before instulting human intelligence. Logic and reason is applied to audited financial statements, which were posted on SKMH's site. PML-N did not run a sting operation or used wikileaks to get that information out. Endowment fund is collected via sources other than zakat and donations for patients. The money for endowment fund is used for investing for the benefit of the hospital and adds to the reserve funds. Look i'm not here to lecture folks on basics of corporate and non-profit institutional finance, next time before you piss all over yourself please understand what's being presented to you. Do some independent assessment.

Has any Pakistani goverment build a hospital to treat cancer patients. Has any Pakistani politician brought glory to Pakistan. One would think that all political parties would congratulate Imran and thank him for building a cancer hospital for the poor people of Pakistan, instead they are trying to discredit Imran and destroy the hospital. There is no comparison between Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif. Even a lay man can see that Imran Khan is a clean,straight forward and may be sometimes a blunt person unlike Nawaz Sharif who has sucked blood of his own countrymen and and only cared about increasing his bank balance. We have already seen him twice as PM of Pakistan which unfortunately did not bring any good news or prosperity . So, IK's argument will not stick. Its time IK took a break from blame game, and gave us some insight into his vision as to how, if given a chance, he will change the common man's life. I don't know what is your point. Yes the hospital accounts are subject to oversight and thats why they are available to public viewership on hospitals website. End of year report is also available on the website not just for the donors but everyone. Misunderstanding and miss-using these accounts/reports Sharif's team was able to built this plot. I dont see any comments on behalf of PLM-N. Is it because their supporters are unable to read and write or they have no defense? I hope people do see the big picture, and realize that this hopital is not for any specific party. It is for every deserving patient, even if they vote for PML-N. I don't know of any institution in Pakistan that is not partisan in way or the other, except for this hospital. Therefore I would request " The PEOPLE" of Pakistan to DONATE even more than before this Ramadan and send a strong message to the cheapsters to avoid these kinds of shots which will jeopardise the lives of many poor who are already suffering under the corrupt rulers. Imtiaz Haideri is a member of the board but also a chief executive in Dubai and a chief executive in British Virgin Islands too. I am not sure if based on his guarantees that the principal is guaranteed/secured that there is any bad intention, wrong doings or even conflict of interest for that matter. I can agree that there would be a shade of conflict of interest only if Imtiaz owns these investement companies. Even if there is a conflict of interest the money is not lost and this wrong could be corrected. It is only SC to decide whether this is a punishable crime or not. There is one thing very clear that the bad intentions of robbing people or the hospital was not there.
Coming to your second point, if I understand it right you are trying to say that we don't need educated people to rule us. So who else do you think befits our rulership? Would you vote for a proud illiterate Hanif Abbasi type of person or Amin Fahim whose sisters are married to Quran to save his family assets from being distributed?

You need to attend his Jalsas to see his real life support and supporter-base. His jam packed jalsas in places like Karachi and Quetta where no one dares to do any jalsa and IK with this big show of supporters is mind boggling even to his opponents. Another proof is his international support from Pakistanies living outside of US. The well managed and fully supported organization he runs in US, UK, Canada, Australia, Europe and other places, I can guarantee you, not a single Pakistani organization come close to half of it in numbers in activities in funds collection in voter-base and so on. Fortunately most of these Pakistanies are educated who support him. Last but not least, you should be rest assured that you are not talking to a kid but someone who Allah has given the blessings of having his own kids.

A friend of mine was president of a dairy company and on the board of trustees as a volunteer executive at Chicago's largest public hospital for 30 years. The last 10 years as president of the board of trustees. He has since died but a plaque was erected for him at the hospital honoring his service. Good works do not need to be defended.
He left this message on that plaque:

I see a lot of strong comments which is good but in my opinion the time has come to start walking the talk........WE, as Pakistanis, should collectively come up with a way to help our country. We know that our country is in dire need of a good progressive leader. PPP, PML and the military have come and gone since the partition and we are still standing at the same place or receded a bit culturally and economically.
If we want our country to exist in this world, we need to give a new person a chance to keep our country and hopes alive......Support his ideas and give him a chance to prove himself.

I would like to see Khwaja Asif and chaudhary Nisar explain a little bit of their great leaders money, and the source of income. They say its much easier to be critical than to be correct. Mr Jabbar in a comment criticizes Imran khan for taking charity for the hospital at the same time seeks advice from ullema, most of whom have not worked a single day in their life ,and make a living on charity , and to call them ulema is an insult to knowledge and perhaps humanity.
