Bureij is a Palestinian refugee camp located in the central Gaza Strip. The camp has a population of aprroximately 35,000 with approximately 29,000 registered refugees.

Similar to other camps along the Gaza Strip, the refugees live in densely populated shelters. The camp lacks a proper sewage system, waste disposal system and their main source of water is an Israeli water company.

These honey bees produce commodities such as honey, beeswax, pollen, and royal jelly. – Photos by AFP.
